Coca Cola India has shut production of the beverage at three plants in the country citing inadequate demand ahead of the peak summer season when sales spike amid scorching temperatures in the country, according to a report by The Economic Times. The three plants are situated in Jaipur, Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya. While the company's spokesperson said that the company has only suspended manufacturing, activists say that manufacturing at the Kaladera plant in Jaipur was suspended because accessibility to groundwater, a claim the spokesperson has refuted. "We are continuing with all other operations at Kaladera. While the Kaladera and Meghalaya units are small ones, the Andhra Pradesh facility is mid-sized.
