In its latest weather update issued on Friday, PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers are expected over Metro Manila and most parts of the country this weekend due to localized thunderstorms. On Thursday, PAGASA recorded the highest heat index of 46.8 degrees Celsius (°C) at their monitoring station in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. The latest heat index in Guiuan is slightly lower than the 51.7°C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan on April 9, the highest heat index recorded so far this year. The state weather bureau defined heat index as the “apparent” temperature or what humans perceive or feel as the temperature affects their body.
