A Downer worker was killed in a two-truck crash under the Tīrau rail overbridge. Downer has confirmed a two-truck crash at the Tīrau rail overbridge on Monday claimed the life of an employee. Reputation general manager Helene Toury said a male staff member was killed following the serious crash on State Highway One at about 3.30pm. “Right now our focus is to support his family and obviously our team because this news comes as a shock to everyone. “I can't share more details [at this time] as there will likely be a police investigation and they are the right people to speak to.”
