Hipolito-Castelo, vice-chairperson of the House Committee on Interparliamentary Relations and Diplomacy, noted that the United Nations emphasized the importance of climate change education. HB 5549 tasks the DepEd to prescribe a mandatory subject or course in Climate Change Education for senior high school students.
