MANILA, Philippines – Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) hit its first P1 billion gross revenue in 2018 after 20 years of establishment, its top executive announced Tuesday. “Numbers of airlines, flights, destinations and business activities increased ever since President Rodrigo Duterte called for greater utilization of Clark Airport,” Melo said in a statement. “The marketability of Clark Airport and the civil aviation complex were keys to achieving this milestone,” Melo added. On the average, Clark airport caters to 11,500 passengers and registers 246 international and 480 domestic flights every week. Last year, about 2.6 million travelers went through Clark, which aims to host 4.5 million annual passengers by 2022.
