By RICK GREEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNLACONIA — The Police Department vehicles will have a new look soon, police Chief Matt Canfield told the Police Commission on Thursday. He said the department has decided to change the paint scheme on new police vehicles from the present all-white motif to the traditional black and white. He said the change should give the units higher visibility and the black and white look is something officers prefer. Also, the new units will be a Ford sport utility vehicle. Several years ago Ford stopped making the full-sized Crown Victoria, and the department began using a police car based on the Ford Taurus, which Canfield said does not have adequate rear seat and trunk room.
