Speakers made the vows at a peace meeting against militancy and communal terrorism, organized by the 14-Party Alliance at Awami League headquarters on Bangabandhu Avenue, on Tuesday. Leaders from the ruling Awami League and 14-Party Alliance, actors, academicians, and journalists, were present at the meeting with Awami League presidium member and Grand Alliance spokesperson, Mohammed Nasim, in the chair. Nasim said Bangladesh will be a global leader in preventing militancy and communal terrorism. Eminent writer, Syed Abul Maksud, calling upon everyone to take responsibility from their respective positions in counteracting militancy, said terrorism has appeared in countries which are democratic and non-communal.
