Police and intelligence officials in Turkey believe the accused in the Christchurch mosque shootings may have been supported or encouraged by a larger organisation. On Saturday, Brenton Tarrant appeared in court charged with the murder of one of these people. Turkish officials said Tarrant's level of knowledge about the Ottoman Empire and the alphabets of the languages he used on his weapons was unusual, the ABC reported. Q+A GCSB and SIS will be not only dealing with the suspect, but will also be looking into how the Christchurch mosque shootings happened. Overall, Turkish officials said they did not believe there was an increased risk for Australian citizens travelling to Turkey.
