A Christchurch man sustained minor injuries after his vehicle rear-ended a ute towing a trailer near Palmerston this morning. Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 south of Horse Range Rd in East Otago shortly after 5.30am. The trailer went under the van and rolled onto its side, he said. The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to Dunedin Hospital via ambulance with minor injuries. An NZ Transport Agency alert said on lane of the highway was closed for about three hours after the crash and reopened about 8.20am.
