Fifty years after humankind first set foot on the moon, Wellington City Council has entered the high-tech space race. Open-space that is. The council has invested $68,000 in a remote controlled lawn mower, already tentatively dubbed "Mo", "Choppy McChopface", and "C3PMow". According to the council, it can scale hills of up top 45 degrees and does have a serious purpose. That is minimising risk to staff - notably on steep or wet ground - and getting more work done with the same service.
