The death toll now stands at 214 with the death rate at 1.87%. On July 8, the death toll from Covid-19 crossed 200 in Chittagong. The body count from Covid-19 crossed 100 hardly a month ago on June 9. On June 19, Chittagong had a little over 6000 Covid-19 cases and in just ten days it exceeded 8000 on June 29. On July 6, the number of coronavirus cases in Chittagong crossed the grim 10,000 mark.
