The university administration made the decision on Sunday, according to the organisation’s employee statute. According to the decision, Sociology Department Prof Anwar Hossain is temporarily suspended from Dec 18 until further notice. Hossain, out on interim bail, appeared before the court on Dec 18 to request permanent bail. Diaz, who served as a vice-chairman of the CU BCL, was found dead at his home on the campus on Nov 20, 2016. The case filed by Diaz’s mother Jaheda Amin Chowdhury with a senior judicial magistrate's court accused 10 people, including Anwar Hossain and Alamgir Tipu.
