Chinese blue chips rise at close


China's blue-chip shares closed higher on Wednesday, a day after it hit a near 3-month low. The blue-chip CSI300 index ended 0.66 percent higher, led by a 2.63 percent jump in its healthcare sub-index and a 1.94 percent gain in the consumer staples sector, Reuters reports. The financial sector sub-index was lower by 0.61 percent, while the real estate index fell by 1.06 percent. The Shanghai Composite index closed down by 0.05 percent at 3,357.74. The smaller Shenzhen index ended up by 0.21 percent and the start-up board ChiNext Composite index was higher by 1.642 percent.
