A 39-year-old foreigner was hospitalized today after receiving the Covid jab, as Hong Kong began inoculating people against coronavirus with Germany-made BioNTech vaccines. Seven centers – in Sai Ying Pun, Sai Wan Ho, Kowloon Tong, Kwun Tong, Lai Chi Kok, Sheung Shui and Yuen Long are now providing the BioNTech jabs, for priority groups at first. One of the elderly who had booked appointments at the center today told reporters that he chose to get the BioNTech jab due to the Sinovac jabs were fully booked. However, he said even if he had successfully made an appointment for the Sinovac jab, he would still give it a pass, given there are news about people having adverse effects or passed away after getting the Sinovac jab. Another citizen, who is a civil servant, also said he had no confidence in the Sinovac jab due to the limited data published by the manufacturer.
