On Tuesday, Hua continued to blast Canada for arresting Meng. Freeland and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau say China is acting “arbitrarily” in their cases. Freeland pointed out that Meng is getting the benefit of an open and transparent judicial system. No U.S. citizens are known to have been targeted by Chinese state security forces as a result. “Do they wish to see an open letter undersigned by the 1.4 billion Chinese people addressed to the Canadian leader?” she said.
