Veteran NFL assistant coach Bob Slowik has been hired as the Montreal Alouettes’ defensive coordinator, the CFL team announced on Tuesday. Slowik worked with Alouettes head coach Mike Sherman with the Green Bay Packers from 2001 to 2004, when Sherman was the Packers’ general manager and head coach. We say that good people make good coaches, and Bob is both of those.”Slowik, 64, was an NFL coach from 1992 to 2013. He started his coaching career in the NFL with a Super Bowl win as a Dallas Cowboys defensive assistant in 1992. Sherman and Slowik helped the Packers reach the playoffs each season and won three consecutive division championships.
