TAIPEI: It took time for China 's naval shipyards to hit their straps. According to IISS, China has 58 submarines. China has eight 23,000-tonne Type 903 replenishment vessels in service along with five 15,000-tonne Type 904 versions of these ships.To boost amphibious landing capability, the first Type 075 helicopter landing ship is under construction, according to Chinese media reports. Up to three of these vessels could eventually join the fleet. The fifth, 20,000-tonne, Type 071 amphibious transport ship was commissioned last year.China's naval shipyards are also building new minesweepers, intelligence and electronic surveillance vessels and ice breakers.
