AFP via Getty ImagesChina, one of the world’s largest consumer of plastics, just announced its plan to ban single-use plastics across the country. While China is one of the largest waste producers in the world, the United States produces more waste per person than China. To date, there are three states in the United States that have banned single-use plastic bags. The ban of single-use plastic bags in New York will go into effect in March of 2020. While those are the current states that have banned single-use plastic bags, numerous cities and counties across the country have banned their use.
