KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 744 participants under the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme have purchased property in the country, with most buyers coming from China, Taiwan and Singapore, says Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing. The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister told Parliament that a further 2,637 participants are currently in the process of acquiring homes. As of Dec 31, 2025, Chinese nationals accounted for the largest share of property buyers under the new phase of the programme with 304 purchases, followed by Taiwan (91) and Singapore (63). Responding to concerns over heavy participation from China and Taiwan, Tiong said the programme was open to applicants worldwide. Applicants from Arab countries are also accepted, and some have made purchases, although the numbers are not large," he said.
