Apart from love birds and couples, children in Tangail have taken an unusual—but admirable—approach to showing their love and respect for their mothers on the day. Tangail Deputy Commissioner Shahidul Islam was chief guest at the event presided by Tangail Press Club President Zafar Ahmed. Western countries have been observing Valentine’s Day for long time now. At the event, children washed their mothers’ feet with soap and water, and then sought their blessings.
