Frances Gonsalves, 40, is to be flown to Britain for urgent medical treatment. She was snorkelling near the shore at English Bay on the remote Atlantic island’s north coast on Saturday afternoon when the shark struck. Her children, Katie, 11, and younger son Louis, were said to have been on the beach and seen the attack, which left her with serious leg injuries. Her husband Dean, who was with his wife in the water, punched the shark, scaring it off and saving her life.
