GettyIt's no surprise that parents caught in the middle of the sandwich generation are feeling financially stress and strained. The sandwich generation is the term used when a parent is caring for both their children and their aging parents. Nearly one-third of dual caregivers spend $3,000 or more a month caring for an aging parent or relative. However, parents aren't the only one feeling the financial strain of the sandwich generation. The study found that 75% of sandwich generation children wish their parents taught them more about money, versus 41% of children whose parents are not dual caregivers.
