A young child had a close call with a cougar at a park in Washington state on Saturday night when the animal tried to attack, according to state police. Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said on Twitter the incident happened around dusk at Enchantment Park in Leavenworth, located about 115 miles east of Seattle. "Young child escaped serious injury when a cougar attempted to attack," Byrant said, citing a report from Trooper Jeremy Weber. Officials had worked throughout the night to track and locate the cougar. Around 1:30 a.m. local time, Bryant said the cougar involved in the attack has been euthanized and directed further questions to the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.
