Our morning small talk over coffee was reduced to hurried hellos and a lack of eye contact. Our 200-square-foot cabin is located on the outskirts of Newcastle, Ont., in a small rural community called Clarington. It runs on a modest solar set-up of three, 100-watt solar panels hooked up to a pair of six-volt AGM batteries. No longer do we feel the oppressive crunch of city life. Living in a small space, everything we own has purpose and a place, and that organization simplifies our lives.
