Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ranked as worst Premier League stadium experience on matchdays

A new study has ranked Stamford Bridge as the worst stadium in the Premier League for matchday experience, giving supporters reason to feel blue. Opened in 1877 for use by the London Athletic Club, Stamford Bridge became home to Chelsea after the club was founded in 1905. The stadium underwent renovation work in the 1990s and now boasts a capacity of 41,837 – although this only makes it the ninth-biggest ground in the Premier League. Chelsea do have plans to drastically expand Stamford Bridge but these appear to have been put on hold as owner Roman Abramovich dials back his investments in football. And that’s bad news for Blues fans and visiting supporters, who are getting something of a rough deal when Chelsea play at home.
