Chelsea face the prospect of losing Olivier Giroud to Inter Milan after the Serie A giants made fresh contact with the striker over a summer move. Giroud is out of contract at the end of the season and former manager Antonio Conte is keen on bringing the World Cup winner to the San Siro. Inter are willing to offer Giroud a two-year contract – something Chelsea have traditionally been reluctant to do with the club disinclined to hand out long-term contracts to players over 30. Giroud was out of favour under new manager Frank Lampard at the start of the season and looked destined to leave Stamford Bridge midway through the campaign.
