Chef creates Otago-inspired cuisine for charity

Photo: Mountain SceneA top Queenstown chef’s preparing to whip up locally-inspired cuisine as part of a star-studded event to raise money for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. Amisfield Bistro executive chef Vaughan Mabee’s one of 15 top Australasian chefs donating their time and expertise for the Dining for a Difference event, to be held in Auckland next Saturday night. The fundraiser’s the brainchild of renowned chef Peter Gordon, who wanted to give something back after his sister was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 1994. There is a draw on the night where guests find out which chef will be cooking for their table. Diners lucky enough to find themselves at Mabee’s table are in for an Otago-inspired menu.
