IN times of crisis such as during the novel coronavirus pandemic now, various unexpected challenges and opportunities present themselves, albeit unexpectedly. But some restaurants or food joints or even just streetside hawker stalls have, of course, more versatile business models than others. So, restaurants and other onsite service-oriented or hospitality businesses will have to adapt to the changing habits and needs of their customers in order to survive and weather these difficult times. So, similarly, as the socioeconomic realities sink in with dwindling customers, we have no choice but to switch our mindsets. I wrote before of the tragic state and consequences of “casual” dumping of plastic items, most often in the forms of bags or containers.
