Changes at the U-17 national team technical bench

The Kenya U-17 football team set to play the African U-17 Championship qualifiers has beefed up its technical bench ahead of that daunting task with former Kenyan international goalkeeper Joseph Ruto coming on board to boost the goalkeeping department. Ruto previously coached many Kenya Premier League (KPL) sides including Tusker, Thika United, Bandari, City Stars, Mathare United and also Tanzanian side Azam FC. The team is currently camping at the Kasarani Stadium in preparation for the qualifiers and Ruto has been part of the coaching staff taking the team through the coaching sessions. The U-17 team that is currently coached by John Kamau and his assistant Leonard Odipo is believed to have preferred Ruto in place of many applicants who had expressed their interest for the position. Prior to his appointment, Ruto has been running programs in schools, coaching young and upcoming goalkeepers in Thika and its environs.
