Chandigarh stalking case: Police recovers footage from 5 CCTV cameras

The Chandigarh Police has recovered CCTV footages from five cameras. Even as political pressure mounts on Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala to quit post after his son was allegedly found stalking a woman in Chandigarh, the defiant minister has refused to step down. A senior Haryana IAS officer, Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Eish Singhal said: "We are investigating the case with an open mind. Reacting on the incident, Lieutenant Governor Puducherry, Kiran Bedi said, "My response is strictly according to media coverage of Chandigarh stalking case, my assessment is that the accused should not have been allowed to be let out on bail without due verification and interrogation. Earlier today, Kuldeep Barala, nephew of Subhash Barala, used the social media to target Varnika raising questions over her character.
