KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 22): Century Logistics Holdings Bhd’s net profit rose by a marginal 1.09% to RM6.28 million or 1.64 sen per share for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2016 (4QFY16), from RM6.21 million or 1.69 sen per share a year earlier. Revenue inched up 1.8% to RM74.6 million, from RM73.3 million, due to higher activities in the total logistics, and procurement logistics services segments, the group said in a Bursa Malaysia filing today. For the full year, net profit dropped 36.9% to RM20.17 million or 5.3 sen per share, from RM31.98 million or 8.63 sen per share in FY15, while revenue grew 0.8% to RM300.29 million, from RM297.88 million. Moving forward, Century Logistics said the logistics sector would remain challenging, amid the current economic climate. “Following the ongoing synergy process, the group also intends to tap on the extensive network and infrastructure of its major shareholder, CJ Logistics Group,” it said.
