In its second attempt to sell Air India, the central government has put the divestment process on the fast track. Sources close to the development said the expression of interest (EoI) for divestment of Air India may be out by October. Sources said that Air India's finances need to be put before the probable investors to take a call on investments in Air India. Simultaneously, the government is planning to have an investor roadshow in a foreign country for Air India to attract foreign investors/players to bid for the national carrier. The central government is of the firm belief that Air India divestment may be successful in the current financial year 2019-20.
