At least nine people, including many women, were killed and 19 suffered grievous injuries in firing over a land dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district on Wednesday, said sources. The incident happened in Muratia village following a disagreement between the village head and locals over the use of a disputed land for farming. The police have arrested two nephews of the village head. According to the police, the land in the district's Ghorawal area earlier belonged to an IAS officer and he had sold it to village head Yagya Dutt. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, tweeted his office.
