But thousands of protesters stalled traffic on the highway that connects Bangalore to Mysore and beyond to Ooty in Tamil Nadu and Wayanad in Kerala. A few Tamil Nadu state transport buses that ventured into the Cauvery hotbed were stopped and the slogan "Cauvery is ours" painted on their windscreens in Kannada. No Tamil Nadu state buses left Bangalore today. Although protests were held across the state, Mandya town, 100km from Bangalore where the highway heads towards Ooty, was the worst affected. The KR Sagar Dam, from where the state will have to start releasing Cauvery water, is located in Mandya.
