A fire crew trying to help a cat down from a roof was rendered useless on Tuesday. The ginger and white moggy stuck on a roof in Grey Lynn, Auckland, opted to take a leap of faith into the bushes below, rather than come down safely by ladder. A video of the daring leap, captured by TVNZ, showed the cat somewhat apprehensive as the crew set up a ladder. Then, as crews watched from below, the cat toppled from the roof to the garden and was caught by her would-be rescuers. One of the firefighters made the safe decision to let the cat go rather than deal with its claws following the jump.
