Carrington and Caitlin Ryan powered away to win gold in the women's K2 500m final on Saturday night (NZ time) in the Czech Republic. Earlier, Carrington - a three-time Olympic Games medallist - was beaten for gold by Belarussian paddler Volha Khudzenka in the women's K1 500 event in Racice.
