TOKYO — Carlos Ghosn, the embattled former Nissan chairman facing charges of financial wrongdoing, has tapped an attorney nicknamed “The Razor” who is famous in Japan for a string of high-profile acquittals. Mr. Ghosn said in a statement on Wednesday that he had named Junichiro Hironaka, a 73-year-old high-profile attorney in Japan, to his defense team. “I look forward to defending myself vigorously,” Mr. Ghosn said in his statement, “and this represents the beginning of the process of not only establishing my innocence but also shedding light on the circumstances that led to my unjust detention.”Also on Wednesday, two lawyers who had been on Mr. Ghosn’s legal team, Motonari Otsuru and Masato Oshikubo, said they had resigned. In his statement, Mr. Ghosn thanked Mr. Otsuru and his team “for their tireless and diligent work.”
