The London-area's chief medical officer says the discovery of the deadly drug carfentanil represents "a turning point in the local drug crisis and it's not a turn for the better." Police said they seized two drug samples in London that tested positive for carfentanil, a synthetic opioid that it is approximately 100 times more powerful than fentanyl and 10,000 times more powerful than morphine. The drug was found in two separate seizures, one on Aug. 25, 2017, the other on Sept. 11, 2017. 'Russian roulette' for users"This is a turning point in the local drug crisis and it's not a turn for the better," he said. The drug can be mixed with other drugs and cannot be detected unless tested in a laboratory.
