Car overturns in collision near TimaruESTHER ASHBY-COVENTRY Police are checking the scene of a crash on Claremont Rd near Timaru which briefly left a 24-year-old woman trapped in an overturned car. The woman's car an SUV Toyota collided with a Nissan turning into a driveway on Claremont Rd about 500 metres from Claremont Hall at about 5.30pm on Thursday. Timaru sergeant Grant Lord said both vehicles were travelling west when the SUV appeared to try to pass the car in front of her as it started turning. A resident at the property said she called 111 after she heard a bang and then saw a silver car upside down in her paddock. At about 6.15pm an occupant of a vehicle on King St in Timaru had an accident and sustained whiplash.
