Forty people were inside the Junction Cafe and Honey Centre on the Taramakau Highway in Kumara when the incident happened at 10.26am on Sunday. A police spokeswoman said a car mounted the curb and crashed through the cafe's window. A cafe spokeswoman, who did not want to be named, said the cafe had suffered structural wall and window damage.
