The stepping up of vigilance in the Capital was followed by thorough scanning at inter-state bus terminals, railway stations, and border areas. Security at major religious installations, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) and Delhi Metro was also increased significantly. Checking of vehicles at borders has also been strengthened and pickets have been raised," a senior Delhi Police officer said. The officer added that anti sabotage checks and repeated sanitising of Delhi Metro stations by dog squads is also being done. QRTs have been deployed and areas in the vicinity of Metro stations are being watched.
