more-inThiruvananthapuram district is leading in the State in the implementation of the LIFE Mission, a comprehensive housing scheme envisaged by the State government. As many as 2,385 houses has been constructed in the district under the scheme till date. The scheme is being undertaken simultaneously by local self-government institutions, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development, Fisheries and Minority Welfare departments. The construction of 498 houses are under way, LIFE Mission district working group convener and Poverty Alleviation unit project director J.A. A pre-bid meeting was held on Tuesday for constructing housing complexes on design-and-build mode in Chemmanad grama panchayat and Punalur municipality under the LIFE Mission.
