Otahuna Lodge in Canterbury's Tai Tapu was built in 1895 and was the home of Sir Heaton Rhodes. Executive chef Jimmy McIntyre at Otahuna Lodge, Canterbury. Today, it's a seven-suite luxury retreat, the largest private historic residence in New Zealand, and listed as a Category 1 historic building. The Verandah Suite at Otahuna Lodge is named after its 9-metre sweeping balcony which overlooks the grounds. A tian of salmon, avocado and tomato, served at Otahuna Lodge.
