Covid-19: $4 million in Refund Club chargebacks sought by STA, other customers


A startup has received more than $4 million in applications, many from STA Travel customers, for chargeback applications in which a credit or debit card charge is reversed. More than 80 per cent of applications to Refund Club were for STA Travel, whose New Zealand companies have been placed into liquidation owing $11 million. With banks taking up to five weeks to process chargebacks, refunds had only just started to come in, said Refund Club spokesperson Andrew Curtis.
