Willi Huber was best known in New Zealand for being one of the founding fathers of Canterbury’s popular Mt Hutt ski area. When Mt Hutt Ski Area opened in 1973, Huber became the area's first manager, a position he held for eight years. Mt Hutt Ski Area manager James McKenzie said Huber was central to the founding of the skifield in the 1970s.
