The prices of processed meat products, like luncheon meat, meat loaf and hotdog, will likely increase by 12 to 17 percent, if the government will increase its tariff on imported processed meat. The Philippine Association of Meat Processors Inc. (Pampi) urged the Tariff Commission last month to keep the current tariff rates for mechanically deboned meat, chicken and turkey meat and offal, which are used to make luncheon meat, meat loaf and hotdogs.
