It comes down to this — quietly on a Friday afternoon — the federal government announced there will be no outdoor game on Parliament Hill during a milestone year for Canada and the NHL’s 100th anniversary. They’ve been solely focused on having an outdoor game with the Peace Tower as the backdrop. If you’ve never been to an outdoor game in a stadium, they’re pretty neat until the puck drops. The Senators have played one outdoor game in their history — at BC Place stadium against the Vancouver Canucks in the 2013 Heritage Classic. Nobody would have had to buy any fake snow on Parliament Hill in mid-December.
