The Department of National Defence is now trying to locate all of the 1,800 employees from the fire-damaged Louis St. Laurent building in Gatineau into three main locations over the coming months. But the future of the damaged building and whether employees will eventually move back there is still undecided, government officials say. Currently all 1,800 employees are now located in six different buildings, including a second Louis St. Laurent facility next to the fire-damaged offices. The Louis St. Laurent building was home to the DND’s procurement branch. Government officials have now started the process to repair the damage to the Louis St. Laurent building.
