Helen (17) & Rupert (9)Rupert was my husband Stevie’s dog. But Stevie wanted a dog and told me he’d train it. We got Rupert from Battersea and he and Stevie spent all their time together – I always felt bottom of the pecking order. An hour after it happened, I had to get out of the house, so I took Rupert for a walk – we’d never gone out as just the two of us before. I was worried he wouldn’t come back to me when off the lead, but he did.
