Following in the footsteps of Nintendo and Sony, Sega has revealed its plan to launch a mini version of one of its classic consoles. Execs from the firm announced this weekend that it will be releasing the Sega Genesis Mini in September with 40 games installed, including Castlevania: Bloodlines, ToeJam & Earl, and Sonic the Hedgehog. The $80 console will look much like the original from the late 1980s, albeit in shrunken form, and will come with two classic three-button controllers. Sega hasn’t released a major console since the Dreamcast, which came out in the late 1990s. The firm, however, continues to be a publisher of the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog games.
